What's the Ceylon puffer like temperament/behaviour wise?

So with a salt tank do I have to premix the water with salt before adding it to the tank? Only I was thinking of using one of those water changer tubes that runs off the tap.

IMO, if this is your 1st puffer, I'd start with something easy, like a FW lurker, dwarf puffer or maybe the F8. For the F8, if you can figure out how much salt to add to replace your 50% water change, you can just add it to a HOB filter, as you are refilling the tank with water.
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

I do actually like the f8 but I've not yet seen one in the store.

It's a shame about the saps pacing, I really can only fit a 4ft tank in my room and I would have preferred fresh water as it's one less thing to worry about.

It could work, can you deal with the dentistry issues? You would need a seperate tank to breed snails. I often thought of putting tall decor in to zig-zag a shorter tank, would block the front slightly but could provide a good swimming route thus reducing pacing perhaps. Not sure though as I was pulling my hair out at the time lol. The f8 puffers are a bit more personable imo, plus if you can get your head round the salinity are easier to keep. Choose the puffer that's right for you though and we will support you fully with your choice. Like I said before, not saying you defo shouldn't go for saps. Just have to give you the facts surrounding their care
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly

Thanks. I'm not too scared about the dental thing, you'll have to tell me where to get the correct sedative though as it seems clove oil is no good? I watched some videos on YouTube and it didn't seem too hard but it's probably awful for the fish to go through.

I'm going to post another topic shortly on tank maintenance etc as I'm a complete newbie to fish keeping.

Are you in the UK Puffer Punk? A search turned no results but I found that apparently only vets stock it and are licensed to use it here but I found an alternative for Carp that's supposed to do the same thing!

I believe the carp stuff has the same ingredients, find out what the one you are planning on ordering has in it and post it on here. We will look. If you go to a private vet and explain what you are going to use it for they may sell you some

I've just seen some Ceylon in fish shop by me. They are lovely but are they brackish or full salt? The shop told me they are freshwater but I know that's definitely not right long term.
