Blaasop Puffers

Post by pufferjw »

Hi, I was surfing the web looking at rare puffers when I stumbled across something called a blaasop puffer. There was almost no information about these puffers, and I was just curious about them. If anyone has any information on these I'd love to know about them.

Just another species of fugu, which is eaten in Japan.

Oh, I thought that they were just a really rare species. I don't get why anyone would want to eat puffer fish, they are so cute and you have a chance of dying.

Exactly.. I can't understand either. They eat all sorts of weird things there. Probably just for the kick of it.. A prepared fugu can cost upward of hundreds...

Blaasop is just the South African/Afrikaans word for "puffer", it's not a species.
Give a man a fish, and he'll eat for a day. Give a fish a man, and he'll eat for weeks.
