Puffers and backgrounds

Post by bigpuff »

Is it a good idea to put a background on puffer tanks? If so, why? And what types of backgrounds work best? I have two GSP's if that makes a difference.

I always prefer black. Tends to make all the other colors pop. If possible I recommend painting the back. Use an indoor paint, the less gloss the paint is the quicker it will dry. It being matte will not matter as you are painting onto glass. Another really cool idea for a background which is big with the aquascaping scene is putting an opaque film on the back and lighting this from being with a color changing led. The color of the led will change the background color.

Unfortunately most of that isn't possible as the tank is right next to a wall! There's about an inch between the tank and the wall, do you think I'd be able to get a background on there?

Just slide it in behind & tape to the sides.
