people not filling their tanks up!

Post by luigimbu »

Right then this is just a moan I need to get off my chest.
Does it annoy anyone else that people don't fill their tanks up to the top or the fill line and leave it like 3 or 4 inches below?it drives me crazy I keep seeing it on YouTube videos or on TV in the background on programs.it just looks stupid and drives me mad!grrrr
Lol please tell me I'm not the only one?

You'd be really upset with me then. I've got a tank in the front room without any water in at all and its been there since Christmas!

I thought that I'd finally won the battle by agreeing with the other half that we really needed a nice new tank but didn't realise that she saw an opening to get the whole room redecorated!!!

Haha yes that's bad but not quite the same thing.
I would tell her you will decorate but the tank gets to be a foot longer; -)
When we moved house I told misses that I ordered a new tank that was just over 5ft but when the 7ft turned up there wasn't much she could do about it!haha

That is a fast rule I tend to follow as well, as long as I don't regularly use it: Forgiveness is easier to receive than permission.

I'm not particularly annoyed by it, but it does make the tank look neglected, AND, it significantly decreases the water volume of the tank, thus concentrating any pollutants present
That's not healthy
What I don't understand, is WHY people do it :?

Maybe they are breeding apple snails? ;-) Then it is not recommended to fill the tank because the eggs need to be out of the water.

Its does annoy me as well. There are however certain breeding methods for different fish that recommened dropping the water level in the tank.

Yes breeding could be one but most of the tanks I see like it are generally just community tanks they probably do t have the knowledge to be trying to breed anything.why do they do it in makes no sense!anyways I feel much better now haha
