What is wrong with people! some should not keep fish

Post by luigimbu »

I was just looking through eBay at puffers as you do and came across this item
251683588511 please check it out.
The listing is for an amazon puffer or at least this is what the owner thinks it is.
its in a 2 ft tank been there for two years but here's the thing IT'S A FAHAKA!
makes me upset to see this going on I mean how can they not know what fish they have?

I say this to myself all the time. So do the owners of my local fish store...

There's someone on one of my FB groups who's had at least 8 bettas in the past 6 months..... there are days I cry.

What's worse is that she keps asing for advice but refuses to by a bigger tank, filter, heater etc....
A kiss on the hand may be quite continental
But puffers are a girl`s best friend.

I saw a betta at one of my clients that was in a container the size of a coffee cup. It killed me not to say something but i could have caused serious issue with my work if i did.

Omg I'm in Hong Kong and they sell you common fish like guppies, neon tetras and betas all packed already in bags hanging on the street waiting for people to come buy them everyday! That's when it's disgusting to see how they treat animals and fish here!!

I work in a lfs. One of my favorites was the woman who complained how every fish she ever bought died. Upon questioning she admitted having no heater, an under sized filter, and an over crowded tank. Her idea of cleaning was stripping the tank down every month and bleaching, scrubbing, and boiling everything. I explained that this was why she was having issues and told her how to go about things correctly. Her reply was "I understand what you're saying, but I'm not going to do any of that." Makes my head hurt to have to listen to some people talk.

She wouldn't do what you told her but yet she's going to scrub and bleach(?!) the tank?

I call it willful ignorance. Being ignorant of something doesn't mean you're stupid, just that you're un-informed. Being willfully ignorant means you're not only un-informed, but that, when you're informed you choose to remain wrong for whatever reason. I liken it to people who are racist, bigoted, or even the ones that blindly follow a re,ligion without ever asking themselves why. And sometimes it's just that "you can't tell me nothin, I'm grown!" attitude.
