I went to a new fish shop today. It was really hard to find and specialized in angels and discus. The guy had some amazing discus in 90 gallon tanks. I was surprised that he kept them stocked so that they had room to move, most lfs keep their angels and discus crammed together. While I was watching one planted tank, what did I see? A dwarf puffer popped out! He said he had put six of them in there temporarily to clean up the snails. This made me wonder though, would the discus ever try to eat them? The six discus were probably a little larger than your palm.
This sort of helps me with my problem of finding dwarf puffers close by though. I don't think he carries them regularly cause he said he only had six but he did say they were for sale. The one I saw was female, I think, and she was very pretty. The others were probably in the many large plants. It is nearby though. What do you think? Good place to buy dwarf puffers?

sounds a heckuva lot better than the other store that you described

LOL It definitely is. I can't believe I didn't know about it. It's got the most ineffective sign and is in a poor location but I liked being there. The guy was very friendly and knew a lot about angels and discus.

I live right in the middle of Michigan. It's a very small town so I usually go to a nearby town for supplies like Mt. Pleasant and that's where I found this store. I can't remember what it's called. The sign just says 'Tropical Fish'. The name is probably on the door but I don't know how this guy gets business other than by word of mouth. The only reason I found it is because my friend was going to a game store directly in front of the fish store and I stopped in when I noticed it.

it's always great to find a store where people care about what they're doing
