dwarf puffer names

Post by supenguin »

I had three dwarf puffers. My wife and I are both big Muppets fans, and it shows.

Biggest DP is named Waldorf
Middle size DP was named Statler - died two days after we bought him :(
Tiny DP (1/3 inch or so) is named Sweetums

Now my wife wants to buy two Dwarf Puffers and name them "Huggy Wuggy" and "Buggy Munger" after a fairly obscure Muppets sketch.

I'd like to get another and name it Manamana, as soon as I figure how its supposed to be spelled :P

The name comes from it always hovering about looking for food. :P

I just call all my dwarfs GUYS... I can't really recognise them...

A. hispidus (stars n stripes):

Toady (he looks like a toad I guess. I didn't name him)

3 D. holocanthus:

Sweet Pea (he likes his peas!)
Smiley (really won't stop grinning)
Spike (duh)

I just realized I need to find names that don't start with s's.

My husband names our puffers, we have had quite a few that have all died within a week. Right now we have a Figure 8 that has survived for a month now and is the sweetest thing I have ever seen. Bill named him Jaws because he thinks he saw him yawn and he's apparently got teeth like a shark. The last puffers we had were sold as pea puffers, found out later that they were just baby Dwarf puffers. They were named peeeeeaaaa pufferrrssssss!

more puffers

Post by supenguin »

Well, my wife decided that she wanted some dwarf puffers puffers too. So besides the three I mentioned earlier, we've got a couple others:

Hugga Wugga and Buggy Munger (named after a Muppets song). Buggy Munger suffered Death By Castle...

Dr. Teeth (the biggest one now)

Manamana

Beaker (currently our smallest)

Wanda (our only puffer not named for Muppets - my wife couldn't resist having a fish called Wanda!)

Okay, this you must explain.

I'll be getting a Fig8 in a couple weeks, and I'm trying to think of names. I won't copy, but of the ones I've read here these are my favorite names so far:

Hoover
Barney
Filbert
Toby
Spud
Chopper
Tuby
Yoda

Nice names, guys & girls!
Random Quote of the Undefined Period of Time: So long, and thanks for all the fish.

My puffs names:

GSP's: Piglet and Porky
Fahaka: F***er (hehe, sorry)
Congo: Cimminin (was Cinnamon, but my niece can't say that, so when she said ciminin it was too cute)
Valentini: hunney

Other neat names:
Lawnmower Blenny named John (John Deere)
2 Skunk clowns named Pepe and lepuney as in "Pepe Lepu" from the cartoons..get it, they're 'skunks'. Anyways, lepuney is the tiny one.

oh and a big hermit crab with fan worms growing all over his shell named clunky.
