Baby Ceylon Puffers on Ebay

Post by Queen Lucy »

Sent for one last month, she made it to PA from California without any problems. Healthy and pestering to eat out of the box. Drip acclimated from freshwater to full marine, treated for IP (although she was plump and in good shape on arrival) One month later "Calypso" has grown and has beautiful coloring. Just an FYI because I have never seen them for sale around where I live. I took a chance ordering online at ebay and I'm glad I did!

If this is the ad, what is their actual location? Shipping price is good but I'd want to know the actual depart location this time of year.

Oh geez... I really wanted one of these puffers in the states for a really long time before I left the puffer world. Ebay was the last place I thought would have a Ceylon :(
Kind regards,

Hi Folks, return address on Calypso's shipping box is Alhambra California. She was packed in Styrofoam all around, and heat pack. Yes, that link posted is the ad. Calypso looks just like the pics. As soon as my daughter can help me - I am computer challenged - I will post pics of Calypso and her obese friend GSP Queen Lucy

I really should have ordered more than one, took a chance just getting one due to distance, weather etc. but if I set up one more large aquarium with only one fish in it my husband will have a fit! Now if I can just sneak a 225 gallon tank I saw in a local ad into the house....a fahaka sounds interesting.....hmmmm

I want one! They're so adorable looking. Too bad I dont have the tank/room. Great find, $15 isnt bad considering they're sorta rare to find. I've yet to see one at any lfs, mixed in with f8s/gsps or not.

Yes, PP I saw those pics of all those little puffers together. I am hoping they were all together for a photo then placed in proper facilities..my puffer had no nips or bites out of her for what it's worth LOL

Ceylons are much better with conspecifics than killer fahakas. Especially as juvies.

These are great fish, Its good to see them in North America and one of my favorite puffers, a year ago they were on the lists but never made it to our area. We will be looking for them now we are seeing them imported. They are sort of a "happy puffer" even though that is personification of a fish... typically robust and rewarding to have... :D
