Be sure the bottom rocks are supported by the glass.
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

They are. They wood is still wanting to float.
As for fish. I have a Jack Dempsey, red and green terrors, a salivini and a red headed cichlid. Also some clown loaches and pictus cats. It is a fun tank to watch.

Sounds like an interesting tank. Does everyone get along?

Re: What did you do with your tank today
I got a great deal on some live rock today - couple of soft corals & mushroomy things attached too. Do I need to do anything with these - the invoice says "finger coral/polyp" & "frogspawn coral". Do they need feeding or anything?

Pics? Frogspawn will eat meaty foods. Turn off your flow when feeding.

Yup, that's frogspawn. It will sting neighboring corals & even send out sweeper tentacles to reach them.

Luckily, I don't plan on getting loads of different things (famous last words!), so i will make sure this fella has plenty of room to stratch his arms!Pufferpunk wrote:Yup, that's frogspawn. It will sting neighboring corals & even send out sweeper tentacles to reach them.

Those some of my favs in the cichlid world but as you will find out as they get larger, they will be fighting to the death. Extremely aggressive cichlids. Some of the badest cichlids in the world. Jack Dempseys dont get the famous boxer name for nothin and red and green terrors dont get that name for nothin either.

I'm so paranoid about compatibility and stocking in general, I have a 9" bichir and a 4" female blue acara in a 75 g. I seem to talk myself out of anything that could go in with them. But honestly the tank is kind of boring.

Seven, I would maybe add some good sized sized fish in there that the bichir would not be able to hog down. I would say some nice sized silver dollars but with live plants, that's not a good combo though.sevenyearnight wrote:I'm so paranoid about compatibility and stocking in general, I have a 9" bichir and a 4" female blue acara in a 75 g. Yeah, that would have to be a mighty BIG tank for them to all get along as adults. My frontosa is a pretty tough guy. Those some of my favs in the cichlid world but as you will find out as they get larger, they will be fighting to the death. Extremely aggressive cichlids.
