Siphoned puffer poo out of the substrate and checked the water chemistry - everything is right where it should be.

Re: What did you do with your tank today
Got a new floating glass hydrometer/thermometer, plastic-encased thermometer (maybe less mortal?), 50G worth of marine salt, and... my very own API test kit!
Went to town testing all the parameters on my own for the first time, don't have to rely on LFS employee's anymore! Had 5ppm nitrates in my loach tank and 15ppm nitrates in my irrubesco's, so I knew I was doing things right, and, surprisingly, my tanks' water was alkali: not dangerously so, but definitely higher pH than the tap, higher than I want it sitting. Everything else was nil or reading 0. Hooray! Buffering tanks w/a WC to a more neutral point tonight, don't wanna crash the levels around too much though.
Think I'm gonna get some rubber gloves and a bigger eyedropper (read: turkey baster)... those test tubes leak a little, or maybe I'm a vigorous shaker!

ask: is this suffering necessary or unnecessary?

Re: What did you do with your tank today
Went a got a new light for Bloat, which he is very thankful for lol. He has been very upset not having light, had trouble hunting lol.
Also did the biggest no no and impulse bought a fire newt.....now to study up on them. Have a 20L that is going to be his perm home once I move to my new apt. Going to move my canister filter over to that tank.

Jungle parasite clear. They are acting better now and I found a nice brown poop in the tank. A few days ago I found what I think was purged worms. I hope to actually see them poop soon...I know, gross.Pufferpunk wrote:ow are you treating the IPs?
Today...set up the temporary GSP tank. Started ip treatment on the GSP's...now just waiting.
