Re: Tetraodon abei!!
I have to agree in regards to keeping Monotrete species together. I keep a few species together, but usually it's the smaller ones that seem to accept others. I would never keep two Abei's together though, don't think it would be a very good situation.

Re: Fahaka / Nile Puffer!!
When I had Obie, he always puffed up when he jumped out of the tank, but I never got bitten by him. Actually haven't been bitten by any of my puffs in a very long time, let's hope my luck holds out.

Re: Aragonite Added
So I have a cloud to look forward to, eh? I'm going to add some aragonite this week to my brackish tank. I won't be doing the entire tank, but part of it and I figure some is better than none.

Re: New Pygmy Arrival
Hey Chris, no need to be sorry, anyone is welcome to join in on this conversation, that's what we're here for. I've talked to the supplier and she's got the pygmies in stock, but due to our weather over here, I might not get to pick them up until after Christmas, or possibly after the New Year. I th...

Re: Merry Christmas Card for TPF
I thought, when I originally scanned it, that it had come out the right way. Obviously it didn't. I'm not sure how to change it though, as you know, I'm not so great with computers, but if anyone can give me any suggestions, I will be happy to try them.

Re: New Pygmy Arrival
Hey there Kilofey! Long time no see/hear. Well actually both pygmy babies died months ago. To be honest, I don't think I was feeding them enough, but I will know better next time. Then more tragedy struck. I had 4 pygmy chams (adults) and first I found Kitty, the biggest female dead. Then a couple w...

Re: Merry Christmas Card for TPF
I'm not sure who Robert Bateman is, and 'Bateman' is only my married name, not my true given name.
I'm glad everyone is liking the card, I thought it was a good idea and just right for the puffer forum.

Re: Breeding snails in a puffer tank
I've got several different types of shrimp in my DP tank. At first they did try to eat the cherry shrimp, but they must have given up because I'm actually seeing shrimplettes now. I also breed cherry shrimp, and snails, in with my Congo puffer who just seems to put up with them, but doesn't try to e...

Re: Upside down hairy at surface!
I know I am several days too late on this one, and I am so very sorry Amy for your loss, especially such a lovely puffer as yours was. :( In my experience, when puffers start rolling around and can't keep their balance and have no control over where they go -- it usually ends in a bad way. I have ye...

I'd say that's typical of most "animals", once they mature, males usually do not get along.

They are some lovely photos, very well done! :thumb: That number six looks very similar to my Alf, which is also a Sphoeroides (rosenblatti), only the pattern is a bit different, but the shape of the puffer is exactly like mine, and mine is growing so quickly too. But back to the photos -- I may hav...
