Re: Finally Got My 2 Suvatti's!!

Sorry, I haven't taken any pictures yet, but I will work on it this weekend and try to put them on here. I went out today and bought them both a piece of PVC pipe so they have some shelter. One of them immediately moved into the little tunnel, but the other is just laying by the tube. There is still...

Re: Finally Got My 2 Suvatti's!!

Yep - I got up this morning and looked into the tank to see them both swimming happily, although one of the Tetras has disappeared! I thought they just laid around all the time, didn't expect to see them up and swimming, of course, the lights are still out, so maybe that's why they are up. I guess o...

Re: Finally Got My 2 Suvatti's!!

Thank you so much, they are eyeing up my Tetras that I could not get out of the tank. Could be Tetras for a late night snack for the young Suvatti's. :(

Re: Finally Got My 2 Suvatti's!!

Thank you, however I'm not certain I'm prepared for the chitter-chatter of little Puffers just yet!

Finally Got My 2 Suvatti's!!

Hey, I finally got my Birthday present one day early -- 2 juvenile Suvatti's!!! They are soooo cute. They've settled in nicely and immediately tried to bury themselves in the sand. I am getting PVC tubes tomorrow, for them to lay in. I know they enjoy hiding. I've got some plants coming soon, so I w...

Re: dwarf puffer tank info

Hi Kira, You've made an excellent choice, Puffers are wonderful!! But be warned, once you get one, you will want more, and more, and more. So don't say I didn't tell you. I have 7 Puffers in with my 3 South American Puffers. They appear fussy and nasty for a little while, but all my Puffers get alon...

Re: Food Variety for Puffers

Yeah, I thought that too, but when I bought raw shrimp the puffers would not touch it, just watched it go by and it laid in the tank putrifying. But when I cut up cooked shrimp, they will eat small portions of it, although they much prefer the bloodworms.

Re: Food Variety for Puffers

It was a cooked mixture, but to be honest, I haven't fed any of it to my Puffers yet, just my dogs. What is wrong with cooked food? I feed my other fish cooked shrimp and they love it, and haven't had any adverse reactions so far.

Re: Suggestions of Puffers in East Midlands

I will probably be getting my Arrowhead on Friday morning, so I will let you know how that goes, if you want. What are your Dragon Gobies like? I have 2 Mudskippers, one of them is very big. As you probably know, Mudskippers are in the Goby family. I think they are pretty cool, probably the most exo...

Re: Suggestions of Puffers in East Midlands

There's plenty of things I wish you could send to me from over there! Why you looking for Suvatti's? The place I know where to get them from keeps trying to get me to buy one. The lady that works there successfully bred two and they have 13 juveniles from that breeding, plus the father (the mother d...

Re: Suggestions of Puffers in East Midlands

Thanks flash.dan I know where I can get two Suvatti for less than £30, and I have been thinking about getting one, but I know they aren't too active either, and that's the only thing that's put me off. MBU is too big, even if it wasn't so expensive I don't think I'd want one, but they are nice to lo...

Re: Food Variety for Puffers

Because I have South American Puffers, which need their teeth trimmed .... I am trying to breed my own snails in another tank, and so far, I have quite a few. I haven't been giving them any snails, it's been several weeks since I last gave them any. So I'm hoping that, once I have enough snails, I c...

Suggestions of Puffers in East Midlands

Hi, Does anyone have a suggestion for a (preferable freshwater) Puffer that is bigger than 3-inches and semi-active? I live in the East Midlands area so if anyone knows of any LFS that has some different Puffers, I would appreciate the help. Well I was thinking about getting an Arrowhead puffer for ...

Re: Food Variety for Puffers

Well I went and got a seafood mixture for them. It consisted of mussels, squid pieces and of course shrimp (prawns). I cut all the pieces up carefully and when I put it in the tank, all my Puffers just watched it float past them. They were not interested. They looked at me like - "where's the b...

Re: Puffers and CO2

Wow, now I feel intimidated! All of these tanks look so nice. I tried taking some photographs last night of my planted freshwater puffer tank, but when I went to upload them it said they were too big and I'm not sure how to reduce them. But let me just say again, the photos that you both submitted a...
