Re: First marine tank- meet my valentini

Not my Valentini, nor my bluespot or baby burrfish have touched a large cleaner shrimp, small peppermint shrimp, small & giant snails or hermits. They will all take turns ripping off flesh from most anything meaty I hang off a holder for them.

Re: HELP!!!

Didn't someone already tell you your puffer should only be eating every 2-3 days at it's size? It's like 4-5", right?

Re: HELP!!!

These are from overfeeding & not vacuming up excess food. How often are you feeding your puffer? Just wipe them off & do a WC to remove.

Re: moving GSP to marine

A skimmer for that tank shouldn't cost $180! Just go for the Backpac, you won't be sorry. I have one on my 15g nano & another one on my 40g. If you have an extra HOB filter, you can add cheato in it & make a mini-fuge. You don't even need a special light for it-- the lights over your tank sh...

Re: First marine tank- meet my valentini

Yup, they are puffers. Bubbletip anemones will not sting your fish. It was my seriously-stinting tube anemone that stung my puffers & they are careful now, not to go anywehre near it! You will have to have a stable tank for 6-12 months before you can support a healthy anemone. Don't be too sure ...

Re: moving GSP to marine

You could go to http://www.reefcentral.com & look on their Used Equipment forum for a Backpac skimmer. You can get one for around $30-40 there. You'll also want to buy live rock. Check at that forum also, for a local reef club. You can usually buy rock cheap, from a local reefer & maybe even...

Re: Monodactylus Argenteus and GSP?

Most monos are schooling fish, that grow to up to a foot long. To keep a school of them, it would require a 300g tank, minimum. I think they are too skittish to keep w/aGSP. JMO
