A lesson in dissapointment:

Caution Long Post & Going to Rant! The tank arrived last night and the moving company basicly refused to move it into the basement. It was too large and too heavy. So here there it sits in my garage. At least today I got it on to 4x 1ton casters but it may not be enough once the water is in it....

Can you not take a cooler with you for your purchase?

I was planning on that for my Live Rock... just dump some water and the rock into a pic-nick cooler and off you go.

Re: Help! J-P's Set up

DANG!! the tank was supposed to arrive today but the movers only brought 3 guys. They were told to bring 6 because of the size and the layout of it. Soooo I will have to wait until Tuesday the 27th before it comes. This may be a blessing in disguise, because I had the chance to finish wall papering ...

Re: Help! J-P's Set up

Once you get the puffer set-up going, the goldfish should be fine in the 30g tank together. What kind of loach is it? Kuhli? Whatever kind it is, loaches need company much like corydoras or schooling fish (while loaches are not technically schoolers). Since you only have one, I would rehome it or t...

Re: Help! J-P's Set up

The reason I asked about the bottom tanks is the top tank looks like it is taller on one end than the other. If you could switch things around, use the two bottom tanks separate, you could make a pretty awesome (albeit massive) sump. I'm drooling at the thought...... :ohyeah: :geezer: Dad is :boggl...

OMG! That is SOME tank! What do you plan to stock it with? And where will you put it? I'd love to see update pix as you get it set up. Thanks! I will be updating and posting as it happens :) As for stocking it is a split level tank; with previous recommendations, I may go full marine and am thinkin...

Re: Help! J-P's Set up

Hey, I noticed that you're keeping goldfish and loaches with the puffers. I didn't see anyone else point this out - goldfish are coldwater fish, and should not be kept with tropicals like loaches (and of course not in brackish water, but you know that). The gold fish are an exotic Japanese type tha...

They are separate, but linked through the plumbing so that the top tanks can filter down into the bottom tank. I can manage the bottom tank separately if I wanted to.

Only thing I can say is, "Holy Crap! You overkilled Kenny!" :yikes: :worship: (hopefully you're a South Park person) That's what I call a nice size tank! It looks to me that the bottom tanks are glass, what is the top section made of? Glass or acrylic? I would seriously bleach the...

Help! J-P's Set up

Ok peeps, I have set up this topic as a walk through for our (my) set up. I have op'd for this because 1) I did a quick search for breeding and came up with 200+ pages, 2) I know some of you are experts and I will be relying on your help, and even more people will be having the same issues and maybe...
