Re: Don't forget about me!!

Yea we moved also .. only have 2 tanks now. 2X65 gal SW sitting empty and 10+ tanks sitting in the basement. Downsizing sucks and the utility costs are HUGE. Thus, out of the hobby (for now).

Re: breeding food in your F8s home tank

It can be done, but it is not for the faint of heart or the new. 90% of the tank should be considered breeding territory for the species in question 10% for the puffer. Thus, if you have a puffer that requires 30 gallons, you are looking at a tank that is about 300 gals. That may sound daunting, but...

Any other gamers out there?

Needless to say I've been gaming since they invented PONG. I've been a net junkie since its inception.

If like me and you happen to be a gamer and live in the USA this site is a MUST visit:

Re: Happy Birthday Poli!!!

not keeping tanks anymore. Gaming. I only have 1 cray tank now. Since the move and new job I'm kinda out of the hobby. I still have my 1 DP though. Haven't fed it on over a year. He just eats the shrimp babies and the cray fry. lol

Re: Feeder shrimps

shrimp shells are no good. Too soft.

would you consider a 5 gal breeding tank got ramshorns or pond snails?

crayfish are also a good choice, but on the large side for GSPs

Re: New to puffers

the plecos will be fine for a while but will outgrow that tank.

I can't speak for the other fish.

Try, if you can, to get a species only tank.

Re: Nitrifying Bacteria???

bacteria does double and continue to grow as long as it had the food to supply it. So you are correct. It is self regulating.

The 90% water changes... well depending on how it is done, we already had that topic discussed.

But not in real time. I just checked the date on the movie. I did see it in the theater but I didn't realize it was a second run... oh well ;)
