Re: We are moving

Biggest tank is 60 gallons? No big deal. I play it safe and remove the gravel and as much water as possible and then two people can carry a 75 easily.

If its chilly, consider using a cooler to put the fish in instead of buckets.. but I see you are in California, hehe.

Re: Lethargic SAP with injured/clamped fins

Internal parasite treatment is treated food so that won't hurt the plants, salt and heat might and personally, I may be in the minority here, if there's no sign of ich I wouldn't treat for it. I'd aim for really clean water and the pimafix if you have it. You've already exposed everyone in the tank ...

Re: Snails not doing so good

I would keep the water above 70, they tend to just sit there and not do anything in cold water

Re: Lethargic SAP with injured/clamped fins

Melafix is more of a skin soother for injuries, stress. Pimafix is for fungal issues, they can be used together, and are safe for plants. You probably don't need to do a hospital tank just because of the Pimafix, but it would be more cost effective to treat a smaller tank than a big one, you can do ...

Re: Red Eye puffer need ID and some advice

He's adorable :) I've always loved irrubescos. I've never had any of my fish bothered by the blue LED's. The bubbler effect is beautiful but the noise drives me nuts. We shut ours off after listening to it for a few weeks, hehe. I'm one that can't stand waterfall noise either and all my tanks have t...

Re: Lethargic SAP with injured/clamped fins

Looks like there was a small injury that is growing some fungus now.. Wow, I've been off the site way too long to remember what to treat puffers with for fungus, but I know most meds aren't safe. Pimafix I think? Wait for someone else to verify, but I would say very, very clean water (daily water ch...

Re: "Magic" Water Cleaner???

Jeni, that thread green algae is a pain! Once its in a tank its a bear to get rid of. Only way I've ever gotten rid of it is to massively massively overfilter or add a few powerheads (it doesn't like a lot of current) and manual removal. Do a standard bleach:water 1:10 dip on decor if its removable....

You lock up the girlfriend and get plastic surgery to look just like her, and take acting lessons..

I'd be in heaven! Maybe not with the squealing (aka screaming) guinea pigs, but i miss my pigeons and dogs!

Re: Heads up - possible forum downtime today!

Well said RTR.. its no wonder we are in a recession when appearances are more important than actions.. this is real life and not high school anymore, but no one seems to understand that! Well guys, I'm back into my full overtime work schedule and won't have any time to do anything other than eat or ...

I'm not sure yet what to do.. need to look at options. This should have been perfect, if their employees weren't all idiots!

Re: Heads up - possible forum downtime today!

LOL.. well, lets just say the customer service on the other end is turning out to be a joke. It took them till 10:30 this morning to get our service actually working, then they accidentally deleted it just a few minutes ago while I was working on it. Why does no one on the face of the planet have en...

Heads up - possible forum downtime today!

Hi all, I'm back from a wonderful horse riding vacation that unfortunately had no internet or phone other than what little signal I could get sitting on a freezing cold, little southern country store porch.. but I see the site managed to survive more crashes, thank you so much to Dadof4 and the rest...

Re: Apologies for down time and any lost posts

IP Board is NOT cheap if you don't go with their hosting.. we'd end up paying more to pay all their fees and our host, plus still have to do the work. I'd rather have them deal with the tech problems!

Re: Apologies for down time and any lost posts

We are looking into it, having someone else be responsible for the upkeep and upgrading would be WONDERFUL, and it looks like they have everything we need/want. I have a few questions I'm waiting to hear back from them on. Downside is we wouldn't have as much storage as we have here on our own host....

Re: Request for an article

We do have a list started of a FAQ page with photos to illustrate common problems or questions, but someone needs to actually put it together and get it online ;) Since we're more worried about finding time to get the site upgraded and running, its going to be on the back burner, but it is something...
