Re: Show Your Tatts!
You like those tight, crisp-lined shoes, you are going to get the bunions. Even faster if they're also heels.

Re: What happened to you today :)
I always get the potato and cheddar cheese ones, because I always serve them with clear onions & butter for a topping anyway. Nothing better with pirogies than a dab of sour cream and some soft hot clear onions.

Re: sticking thermostats on heaters
Some heaters do temperature regulation with a thermostat in the heater, while others have a "duty cycle" where the amount of on time and off time is loosely controlled by the dial. The duty cycle type vary MUCH more with the room temperature, heat from lights, etc.

If anything, it sounds like he might not be digesting as fully as he could because he's very well fed.

Re: I have Coralline algae on my sand?
In shallow tanks it's not uncommon to see coraline algae spread onto the sandbed, especially if it's argonite sand.

Re: Green Away???
Algae killer is just a waste of money anyway. You can only add it once per water change, and even that risks fish deaths, and meanwhile it gradually does less and less each time you use it until it does nothing.

Re: Non Puffer: Ryukin GF belly up in under 24 hours :(
I noticed while working at the fish store that the more distorted a body a type of goldfish has, the more often they meet a sudden and strange end. Koi usually get bought even by tiny pond owners, then move from pond to pond and live until killed by repeated stunting. If not stunted, the major cause...

Re: DP w/ IP's - Round 3
DPs only very rarely can have their IPs narrowed down to nematode parasites IME - they are so small they make a poor host to most actual worms, either the parasites bypass them, or more likely DPs die of them too quickly to make it into our hands with the worms large enough to be visible (even if ou...

Re: wierd noise...
Been there! In my case It ended up being the occasional bit of argonite sand that not only got kicked up enough to be sucked into an impeller, but also made it between the impeller magnet and the walls of the housing, taking just one grating moment to be ground to dust. I'd check all your impeller m...

Re: New tank
I always suspected, but only recently tested, a theory that you can actually fix many small leaks on hard surface contact areas with krazy glue. No good long term if silicone, rubber, or other flexible sealant have been are used, of course, as its a very rigid bond, but it will last quite a while ev...

I know this is turning back the clock a bit, but for importing less controlled medications like champix, I recommend getting them from India. Pfizer and several other large pharmaceutical companies operate there themselves, which means you can often get the same drug by the same maker (my chamix was...

I tried a couple betta with apple snails, they continually amputated the antenna until the snails never extended them at all anymore. Seemed too mean to keep together.

Re: how to train the puffer on pellets (my methods)
My GSPs eat Hikari sinking carnivore pellets, but no other prepared food of any kind. It's nice to know I have them to fall back on when I'm low on live snails and/or out of live worms, but I still consider it mostly a fallback, as they don't quite love it like they love the meaty stuff.
