I'm sorry, my mistake, I keep my discus tank at 84-86 degrees F, not 90. Anywhere between 26-30 C, shoud be fine for your fish.

I think as soon as he could catch a shrimp, it would be dinner. Those are quite expensive meals. Hermits at least have a chance... not a good one though.

I've always been under the impression that mealworms were too fatty for fish. Also, their chiton (outer skin) is extremely difficult to digest.

How large are your QA plecos? I have one in my discus tank at 90 degrees. It was about 1 1/2" when I bought it about 5 years ago & now it's only 2 1/2". Not much bioload there...

I had a huge red hairy one that lasted several months with my 2 adult GSPs. It was mean! Every time I'd go near tank, he'd climb up to the highest rock & shake his big claw at me! Eventually he was eaten...
