Re: LED lighting needs for zoas?
I don't think you'll be happy at all with only white lights. The spectacular colors from LED lighting comes from their blues & pinks. Aqueon also sells a "colormax" LED strip for my fixture, and it has red and white diodes, so I could exchange the all-white one I bought and get that o...

LED lighting needs for zoas?
I recently added red mushrooms (Actinodiscus sp.) to my previously-FOWLR tank. They seem to be doing well, and my g-s puff hasn't nibbled at them (as far as I can tell). It's encouraging me to try some other softies, specifically, zoanthids. After reading posts here and on other sites, I learned tha...

Re: can anyone id these weird blobs in my puffer tank? (pic)
hadla, the blobs in your photo remind me of some that I had in my brackish tank in the past. Here's the thread I posted about it; you can see what Pufferpunk and RTR had to say about it. http://www.thepufferforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=25021 I ultimately converted my tank to saltwater and...

I'm a SW newbie, too, as of January, and I've had some similar experiences, one of which I just posted about yesterday: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=26385

"WTH is in my tank?!" moment
My GSP and I experienced a surprise yesterday, one that had me thinking "WTH just happened, and what's in my tank?" I crushed a small snail and dropped it into his tank, and it fell next to a large piece of LR. I watched Puff cruise over to pounce on it, and just as he was "winding up...

Re: Ad for free shipping on protein skimmers
haha I ordered my skimmer from Salty Supply... I would gladly pay ten dollars more and go through somebody with a sliver of customer service. Thanks for the heads up though :D No kidding! I didn't have any issue with the two items I bought from them. Good to hear about someone else's experience, th...

Hey! What's the latest, briguy44?
If you haven't yet bought a skimmer, check out my post from this morning (viewtopic.php?f=9&t=26357) ... I posted a link to an online aquarium supplier that's offering free shipping on skimmers.

Re: Could a Peanut Worm kill
I'm interested in hearing an answer to Dad's question, too... I've seen peanut worms in the LR in my two-month-old SW tank. I haven't had any problems thus far.

Re: Guess Im going to go salt
When you get ready to start that 20L again figure starting with a budget of $500 (minimum) and consider yourself lucky if it comes in under $1000 when finished. Wait... what's the $1000 expense for? Remember that I just set up my 36g as SW and I don't think I spent over $500. Also, Xrayjeeper, do y...

In my Jack Dempsey tank, I covered the filter intakes with mesh to keep the newest batch of fry from getting sucked up.
