Re: Driftwood in brackish tank??
While the size of the would would make a minor difference, the amount of tannins (SP) would effect your PH more, new wood vs old wood...the longer it has been in a tank (any tank) for a substantial period of time, the more acid that has leached out ant thus... the less the variance over time. Wood wi...

Re: Linus, my beautiful fahaka, rest in peace
Sorry for you loss BM I guess that could be possible. Apparently if you have copper water pipes you are supposed to let the water run for 15 minutes and then add it to the tank otherwise lots of copper gets in. Is that true? I believe you are right...in that it is only an issue with new pipes...afte...

Re: My f8s bellys are huge is it normal?
Perhaps I am misinformed, confused or just clueless (not an unusual occurance  ). I have always had ghosties in my fw tank...seen many females with eggs, never seen the population change (other than when some one gets eaten by an aussie or (now) a puffer.) Maybe, any that are produced are eaten...

Re: Marine vs. Freshwater biospira ??
I believe FW biospira works in tanks up to 1.01 sg...but would have to check the bottle..
I am some one else will confirm or refute that here soon

Re: Lowering pH in brackish tanks..
Fish will adjust...best to just leave it where it is. There are too many other factors contributing to the make up of PH to make it easily controllable, and swings in PH are more harmful than a consistently high or consistently low PH

Re: My f8s bellys are huge is it normal?
How much are you feeding at a time? Yes the begging is normal, try not to indulge them too often. When feeding them, try to feed them only so much as to give their bellies a rounded appearance...If they look like little pot bellied truckers when their done...you have given them a bit much. I take fr...

Re: question on F8's Behavior
One could try rearranging the decorations and plants in the tank...make them think they are some where new. One thing...it comes off as an odd question..but does he/she only pace when you are in the room ...and usually at the front of the tanks or the sides? Try being out of the room for a time (hr ...

Any idea of the type of parasite?...or why you think there is one?
I dont think scrubbing will completely remove any parasite (maybe just move them around a little), if there is one, it will have to be treated...and depending on the culprit, treatment could vary.
Anything you can add

Re: Puffer Resources?
I believe you have nuisance algae. In BW..there is no Coraline algae (that I know of...but my SW experience is limited) as Mjay stated it is likley "green spot algae or it could be "BGA" (although BGA isnt really algae-(Blue-Green Algae) (Cyanobacteria) Algae itself is just unsightly ...
