Re: What are/is Your Dream Puffer[s]?
Those are both great looking puffers! I want to have a 200g softy tank with a porcupine puffer someday. That's the goal

Well, your pics definitely look like an abei. I'd stick with that for now.

Re: Cloudy Tank
Whether the pH is 7.5, 8.0 or in between isn't nearly as important as the pH being stable. A stable pH reading anywhere in that range should be just fine

Re: Two GSPs - Fitzgig and Gizmo
You probably don't need to do salt baths if they're going to be brackish anyways. Have fun with them!

Re: How many F8's and Bumblee bee Goby in a 180l or 48 us Gal?
As long as you have plenty of plant cover and hiding places, you could have two F8s. You just have to make sure that if they don't want to see each other, they don't have to. Just breaking up their line of sight reduces aggression substantially. Bumblebee gobies are so much fun. I think you could pu...

Re: I've Got A Rather Large Problem... Advice?
I wouldn't recommend it. Where are you located that there are no freshwater snails?! Ah, just saw the latest post. Snails are almost always on aquarium plants at stores whether they like it or not. I hope you find some, and if you do, definitely start breeding them! Maybe the mussels would work...ho...

Re: Getting Puffers Soon... Help!
This is a great website for learning about dwarfs: http://www.dwarfpuffers.com/
They're easy to take care of and have great personalities. If you can get 1:3 male:female ratio, they'll be much happier. And they love java moss and live snails for food.

Re: Depressing...
Hopefully they'll get some more in. You could always ask them to order some for you in their next shipment. Dwarfs are just great! I'd recommend them to anyone, especially when you're new to the wonderful world of puffers. You'd love them and they're tons of fun to watch when they hunt for snails.

Some puffers are picky. Maybe the one doesn't "like" what you're feeding it? Try some new stuff maybe...

Re: do you think i could put together GSPs With a Porcupine Puff
Well, I personally think that a full-size porcupine should be in a 200g tank, but a lot of people think that's excessive.

Re: do you think i could put together GSPs With a Porcupine Puff
Well.....I think you probably could put them together...but I definitely wouldn't recommend it. Too much aggression in one tank. You need a big tank for a porcupine puffer anways; minimum 100g for an adult. I'd pick one or the other.

Re: New To Puffers...
Absolutely get dwarf puffers! They're perfect for that size tank and relatively easy fish to care for. They have great personalities and act like they're much bigger than they are. They love to hunt live snails and it's so much fun to watch. Let us know when you get them.
