This is what I did, and I am not saying that it is right or wrong, just my experience. My GSP came to me at about 2.5" from a person who thought that it would mix well with his community tank, wrong. I put him in a spare 30 gallon tank in freshwater and started to raise the sg as per the instru...

If memory serves me right, it was about $25 Canadian. They sanded and rounded the edges so there is no chance of cutting myself or my fish. I do not have any jumpers so I feel confident with the small uncovered strip at the back of the tank.

For my 72g (48 X 18 footprint), I went to the glass shop and got 2 strips of 1/4" glass cut at a 8 1/2" width. The first piece sits back against the Aqua clear filter and holds the light, while the second strip sits at the front of the tank with a little overhang. I glued a seashell on it ...

I have only used a floating hygrometer since I started raising the levels of my tank from fresh to full marine. They are calibrated for 60 degree F and according to all calculators and charts I have found, this works out to a reading of 1.021 at 75 degree and 1.020 at 80 degree. I mix my salt at 60 ...

Welcome to the forum and pufferkeeping. What kind of puffer do i have? It is green with black spots. It could be several, but probably a Green Spotted as they are quite common. I was told they eat tropic flake fish food, is that right? Very seldom, basically no. What else can my fish eat? He needs h...

I have my 3" GSP in full marine and he is living large and strong. His cap is an irridescent green, almost glows in the dark, if that is a reliable indicator. The only problem since he has gone full marine, about 4 months or so, is that he lets my 3 Stripe damsels push him around.

Just a thought, but I feed him bloodworms or live earhwroms etc. every morning. Could this regular feeding of foods easier to eat than snails have something to do with it?

Very interesting. I just picked up a bag of Nitra-Zorb as an emergency preventinve in case of an ammonia/nitrite spike as I have just moved all of my tanks around to make room for my new 72 gallon. Do you think that it would be good a preventitive measure for that case or should I just take it back?
