Re: cool little system going
Oh, well, OK RTR, since you're evidently the ultimate word around here these days - guess I should've titled this thread "The Most Horrible Thing You Could Ever Do To A Puffer". And yes, unlike you, I don't give a flying crud about my fish, and certainly will never be the aquarist you are,...
Re: Red lumps
J-P, I did all that, and didn't come up with anything that applies to this situation. I used "pimple", "zit", "red lumps", keywords like that. What came up was either pertaining to freshwater fish, or from their description didn't look like what I'm seeing. Anyway, I've...

cool little system going
I stumbled on this self-sustaining puffer feeding system quite by accident, but it's really cool how it's worked out (at least I think so). I figured out what was going on because I was wondering why my modestus was so full all the time, way more than he should've been if all he was eating was what ...
Re: Red lumps
FYI water (RO/DI + Instant Ocean) tests at 0 ammo, 0 nitrites, 0 nitrates, s.g. 1.024, pH 8.4, temps ~78F.
Re: Red lumps
Thanks, J-P, I appreciate it a lot. I'll go back and search using some different keywords because I'd really like to read those threads. The little fishie sure doesn't act like anything's wrong with it - she eats really well, looks good otherwise, and is quite active. Our water is as good as water c...
Re: Red lumps
I'm sort of surprised that there are no responses to this thread. Is it because I don't personally own this fish, or because no one knows what it is? I know I'm not as active as I once was on this forum, but it's not because of anything negative. It's just that I deal with fish and animals all day l...
Re: Red lumps
I should have put this in Hospital, maybe someone will move it for me.
Red lumps
Sorry to post on this, because I know there is a thread somewhere in this forum dealing with these, but after searching the forum using the keywords "cysts" and "red bumps" I couldn't come up with anything. We have a little valentini at work who acts wonderfully healthy, eats wel...

Toby article
There's a real nice section on tobies in the Jul/Aug issue of Coral magazine, if you can track one down. A few pages are even devoted to Canthigaster leoparda; the person who wrote it has 4.

Re: Crash Course on Stunting- What does it mean for your fish?
Just a comment, not really a contribution to the thread. It's sad that it (stunting) is even an issue that comes up - but from personal experience, I know that too few people care about the welfare of their fish, only the amount of entertainment value they can get from their fun little swimming jewe...

Re: Shedding
Hmm...Purigen seems to be an interesting product, one I don't think we carry. Sounds like something we should have, though, and it's a good company. Thanks PP!

Re: Shedding
OK cool, thanks, good to know. It's definitely been healthy, practically growing like a weed, so I was thinking that it might just be a sign that it was growing.

Anyone with a cabbage leather, about how often does yours shed? Mine seems like it sheds about once a month, and I'm wondering if this is normal.

Mine's only ever eaten yellow polyps, but then all I have are soft corals.

Hehe PP considering how much I like mollies, I'd find that pretty satisfying to see happen.
