Re: ANYONE HAND FEED THEIR FAHAKA???
Be very careful. I have to advise against petting him, you will damage his slime coat causing serious health issues. Damaging slime coat is one of those old fish tales / myths :D. You can't really do any damage petting a fish and there's no science to back up the claim either. I pet all my fish and...

Never seen these matts where are they from?bertie 83 wrote:You can buy mats for tanks to give a substrate feel, that would be better than nothing for any fish IMO. For example would be fine in a tetra or danio tank. The shadows on the bottom or purely the unnatural look could easily keep your fish on edge.

Re: What size tank do YOU think an MBU should be in?
Yes, Mbu are a big fish but they do not arbitrarily produce more waste than any other fish of equivalent size. In other words, if there were some "Top-10 list of fish which crap the most", it's not like the Mbu would be #1. A large Pleco, for example, seems a lot messier to me. Ditto on g...

Re: bare bottom tank
I use play san in my Fahaka tank. In my panaque tank i go for no substrate as i dont think it affects them (after lots of research online) as they poop for fun! my water quality is alot better since having no substrate in there!

Re: fahaka and plants
Your fahaka won't eat them. It will just bite them and spit them out.
Mine does the same with fake plants.

Re: Fahaka wasn't interested in hard food
I know it's a late reply. I'm going out shopping for a reload on his food. I can go to supermarket or fish mongers. I will pick up some cockles with shells on. I have had crevettes that are raw before. Any thing else I can add to my list?
Thanks guys

Will a 1.9l of melafix pro be ok? The 473ml normal stuff will only do my tank 5 times.
