Re: Live Rock in cold water for the night
Nope just pop it in and leave it be, you want ammonia to be there so the bacteria that converts it will build and turn it into nitrite and so on.
Wait to WC untill you have no ammonia and nitrite readings. Run phosphate remover if you can though.

Re: WHOLE SW SYSTEM JUST CRASHED!!!!
Seriously mate stop dumping stuff into your tank unless you understand what's going to happen. I feed my corals because they require feeding, I also skim my tanks to silly levels and run measures to prevent blooms. Zoa's need no food

Re: WHOLE SW SYSTEM JUST CRASHED!!!!
Bacterial bloom then. Mate do not feed particulate food as you don't need to as it will break down, make a carbon source and cause blooms.
Get a powerhead pointed at the surface to promote gas exchange and stop dosing everything. Big WCs aswell.

Re: WHOLE SW SYSTEM JUST CRASHED!!!!
Cloudy water? Like milky? Could be a bacterial bloom.
That would wipe out all your O2 in the water and kill your fish.

Re: my NPS past and present.
Forget filters, live rock is your filter. Power head is essential, 5g wouldn't require skimming but would need a good weekly WC.
Look up zoathids, they make a wonderful easy reef.
Thanks Amy, did you notice that I like gorgonians by any chance.

Buckets fine, a friend of mine used to cure LR in a bath tub. He even had a light hooked up to promote macro growth.
