Replenishing planted tank
I have lost all my plants after prolonged treatment for Ich. I've ordered a huge amount of plants that will come lead wrapped for direct planting. This may be a daft question but is the lead wrap safe to use in aquariums and particularly in with my Fahaka?
Many thanks

Re: Fussy Fahaka
I'm really struggling to feed snails as just don't seem to be able to rear them very successfully. He gets them when I find them in my other tanks but the Tiger Barbs eat them too and my other tank is full of Corys who leave so little waste there's nothing left for the snails so they do very poorly ...

Re: Fussy Fahaka
Thanks guys. Out of interest, does your Fahaka/Puffer break through the cockle shell itself? I have to make an initial break and then he crunches through the rest. Otherwise the cockle slides out of his mouth.
What would you recommend for giving multi-vitamins?

Re: Fussy Fahaka
He's about 7 inches. I feed 1 large or 2 smaller cockles and once he's eaten them I give him 1 large or 2 smaller mussels. Sometimes he refuses the cockles but I can usually wait him out. This way he knows he won't get easy to eat mussels until he's crunched through the cockles. I do this every othe...

Re: Fussy Fahaka
Actually, he was having mussels from the supermarket before and is now on some from lfs. The cockles are the same brand as usual but he's always a bit funny with them because they take effort to eat!

I'm currently still treating as saw the last of the spots disappear last week. Sorry, should have made that clear.

Fussy Fahaka
Hi. My Fahaka has recently had a very bad Ich infection and his water has still high salt and temp. I'm used 2 teaspoons per USG and we are finally spot free! He's coped very well with the treatment and is just as cheeky as ever. However, he's suddenly got extremely fussy. He's very hungry and will ...

Re: Ich-type white spots
Temp is 85/86. Yes, 1 or 2 spots on his fins. The spots are coming and going quickly but its not being killed when water born. I've increased the salt twice now but still a little nervous of overdose. I'll try to get a new pic. Trouble is that he's usually covered in sand so I need to wait for a cle...

Re: Ich-type white spots
I'm getting concerned because he's still getting spots. I'm following all your advice, water changes, replacing the lost salt, vacuuming daily, high water temp. He's doing fine, breathing is good and is behaving as normal. He's stopped rubbing on the bogwood. Where am I going wrong? What more can I ...

Re: Python, Aqueon, Lee water changers UK
I have sourced an Aqueon and its winging its to me from usa. My partner did look at diy version but we wanted the connectors etc. I got it from discountedpetproducts.net I looked at the JBL one but it is only 25 feet, with a 25 feet extension. I need about 40 feet. By the time I paid for the JBL one...

Python, Aqueon, Lee water changers UK
Hi all Does anyone in the UK know where on the web I can buy a Python, Aqueon or Lee water changer that doesn't charge ridiculous shipping fees? I am disabled so using this device would mean I can do water changes myself without having to rope in my poor long suffering partner. Used to be horses, no...
