Re: Moved my tank home need advice on stocking

Not that scientific really and no maths required, they are territorial and so need a little space, if you put too many in they will whittle themselves down through competition/stress. Just look at how many 20cm circles (Neale Monks recommendation) will fit across the base and don't exceed that numb...

Re: Moved my tank home need advice on stocking

1 BBG per 20cm diammeter base of the tank. I think you must be lucky with your F8's temperment since your flounder hasn't been pecked to death. How long have you had it? Do you give it night time feeds? What SG do you keep your tank at? I've had the puffer for about 9 months and the flounder ive ha...

Re: Moved my tank home need advice on stocking

Ok im saying the flounder does not count towards space but does to bioload. If I get a bigger filter then as long as everyone has space then bioload isn't an issue. Like your analogy if I had a roommate and we had more people move in and had the space but we ate a lot more and made more of a mess we...

Re: Moved my tank home need advice on stocking

So you already have a f8, a bbg and a flounder in the 15? I would say you are stocked as is. It's 25 gallons. I believe that 15 is good enough for an f8 do I have 10 extra gallons to work with. The flounder is flat and only needs the bottom of the tank so I don't the a flounder adds any to the stoc...

Re: Switching from Gravel to Sand for the First Time

I have sugar sand in my tank and if you hover the siphon over the sand it will get all the dirt. You will suck up some sand but I have had my tank with sand for over a year and still haven't noticed a loss of sand. Sand is hard to keep clean but I like it better then gravel. Post pics when your done.

Moved my tank home need advice on stocking

moved my tank over 200 miles and all my fishies survived no problem. now that the tank is set up again, i was wondering how many bumblebee gobies can I fit in a 25 gallon tank. right now i have my fig 8 who is not aggressive at all. I have seen him try to hunt ghost shrimp but gives up after they je...

Re: New tank setup

http://i43.tinypic.com/2yljtea.jpg This was the old set up from a long time ago. The mudskipper has a lot more room now just by moving his little tunnel. I really neglected the tank for a month and it got out of hand luckily no fish were harmed. I did a hardcore clean and remodel. I need more decor...

Re: Ph at 8.8

he has been in that tank since august so if he doesnt feel at home now i dont think he ever will. i believe he is p. variabilis. that is probably the best match i could find using that mudskipper species. When i had two i think i had a male and female. one was dark and the other was reddish and ther...

Re: Ph at 8.8

nice first attempt. my first attempt was fugly. i like to try new things and figured i try to find a way to have a land and water section so i could have more fish. i did research on my mudskipper and it turns out he is one of the more terrestrial mudskippers. i love him to death but i wish i had on...
